The Odyssey (1972)

Baer and his co worker made a name for themselves by creating the previous system. So they were hired to create another system named the Magnavox Odyssey the first commercial video game console. The system was marketed in the Magnavox TV dealership. The console Featured 12 games, but the console’s popularity was stooped because of two reasons. TV dealers didn’t see the importance of the console. Two there was a rumor that the system is only compatible with the Magnavox TV set.

Intellivision (1980)

Mattel introduced the intellivision to counter Atari’s popularity. In the early 80s there was a rivalry named the console wars between Atari and Mattel. Made by Sony, this system this was the most popular system in the 32 bit era of video games. Because of its three dimensional game-play it out lasted the other 2 dimensional consoles. With CD ROM technology the price of playstation games dropped dramatically compared to cartage based games.

Nintendo 64 (1996)

This system was the last mass marketing system to operate with cartage based games. The cartage eliminated the need for memory cards. Nintendo lacked the broad range of games unlike the playstation but still remained popular with games like Super Mario 64.

Global Politics Essay
The Cold War

The Introduction

In this essay I will be writing about the cold war’s technology, military,
economy. In the cold war the two main enemies were The United States and Soviet
Union. The cold war had a powerful influence on technology. The funding for new
weapons went to Nuclear Weapons. The United States in the cold war distributed their
money to between the private sector and the government nonmilitary sector.

Body

The Cold war had a great influence on technology.  The money for new weapons was
based on the nuclear realm. Technology helps us become more accurate in delivering
military vehicles with also allows the air force to use smaller war heads. With smaller
war heads the air force could have a variety of things that they can equip to aircraft that
are able to equip nuclear bombers. Our air forces superiority in nuclear weapons makes
up for the soviet’s superiority in conventional weapons.

The term The Cold War was first used by Bernard Baruch  (Harry Truman's adviser). The
actual date for the cold war is not know. Historians are still arguing about the actual date
for the start of the cold war. I think the start of the cold war is around 1947 because that
year our president Harry Truman declared an anti-communist policy. A main cause of the
cold war was power between the United States and Soviet Union. With the decline of
Europe the power was mainly shared between United States and Soviet Union. Another
reason why the cold war started was because the United States wanted free trade
throughout the world but the Soviet Union didn't want to open up too western influences.
In the United States people have the right to voice their opinions, elect their
government, and right of the press. However the Soviet Union didn't have those rights.
They didn't have the right of assembly, press and speech. Because of those differences
they United States and Soviet didn't have common ground.

After 1953 the tension between the United States and Soviet Union
decreased because both of the countries had hydrogen bombs which would destroy each
other in war. The destruction of the wall of Berlin showed the world the end of Soviet
domination in Europe. The cold war ended around 1990 with the collapse of the Soviet
 Union.

Conclusion

Basically the cold war was a conflict between the United States and Soviet Union.
The United States were for the democrats and Soviet Union for the Communists. The war was
four decades long

Macbook Air

Macbook Air

The new macbook is designed by apple supposedly the world’s thinnest notebook. It came out today October 20, 2010. It is said to be ultraportable and is the first laptop to implement Apple's precision aluminum enclosure. It only weighs 3lbs which isn’t a lot for a laptop. The MacBook Air has been revised three times since the original release. The first revision introduced higher performance, a larger hard drive, and a Mini Display Port The second revision, introduced with the MacBook Pro family, featured a lower price, higher performance, and longer battery life. It was revised once again today with the addition of a smaller 11inch one. There is a flip down hatch on the right side that reveals the USB port and a stereo earphone jack. Now on the left side, there is port for the changer. Above the screen, a webcam and microphone are located. There are a couple of issues though. Like the tight fit for the USB and headphones socket. There are two versions but they are basically the same. The second has a larger screen. It has two processors. The macbook air has taken the technology from the ipad, and advanced that. Multi touch is basically used on every apple device which includes the Air. Inside of the Mac air, there is a lot of space for the battery. The Air his this new cool addition that allows you to put the Mac asleep for an hour it enters its standby mode. When you leave your Mac like that, you then can leave it like that up to 1 month and at the touch of a button it will wake up in an instant. The battery lasts up to seven hours with the 13 inch model and five hours for the 11 inch model.  Since it has two Intel core processors, it is very fast. It also has the fastest integrated graphics on the market.

Google Music

Google’s rumors about the music service are finally coming out.  Google is planning to launch storage lockers that users can save their music and get it from any internet access area. The first step for Google is a download store that contains music, music videos, ect.. Also it would just like iTunes, Amazon, or any other music download store. Once the merchandise is purchased, is would be downloaded to two places. 1. Your internet accessible device, like Google TV with is coming soon and music library were song are stored.
Google could collide with trouble when it comes with to the record labels.                                                        The fee would be around 25 dollars an hour which would split revenues 50:50. Music publisher would also take around a 11 percent share but, this early there is no clear way to tell who this is coming from.                                That percentage is actually a lot for Google only because Google’s songs are from file sharing sites would deffinately be in the way on sites that are legit.
There is still some way to go for Google to get all of the agreements to get signed. Google is totally going to want to start in the United States. A similar streaming company named Spotify hasn’t managed to set up in America yet, even though they got nearly 10 million users in Europe.
